A couple of tips:

1. I have late join turned on for the rides. You can join up to 30 minutes after the ride starts. If you begin the ride and have a problem, or get dropped from the group, you can just back all the way out of the game (and save your ride), and sign back in to be placed back in the group, as long as you join before 30 minutes have passed.

2. Are you finding yourself getting hosed on the climbs? An adjustment to your training difficulty setting in the game may be in order. Once you have paired with your trainer in the game, click or tap on your profile in the upper right of the Home Screen. Your trainer difficulty will show up with a slider in your hardware settings (see screenshots). Inline image

The default setting is 50%, which means a 10% grade “feels” like 5%. Turning down the setting isn’t “cheating”, as it takes the same amount of power to go up the climb at the same speed. It just makes it so you don’t have to grab as many gears to climb, or get bogged down pushing a low cadence to grind up a climb. Think of it as putting a bigger rear cassette on.
