What a nice day for a ride on a club favorite Cowles Settlement Ride
(except for a few unexpected nature related items)
Good temps and low wind greeted 18 riders
AQI was around 100 (thanks to Canada responding to tariffs)
and then there was Bardeen Road in Fabius
there were barriers closing the road due to a large sink hole
but there was the fallen willow trees (many trees) blocking fully the road after the hole. We were able to walk into the field and climb back onto the road
there was the dog Apollo called back by the owner as we were climbing up a hill
and there was a cow that escaped from the fence but was on the side of the road
and then there was the 18% climb and many more . Garmin said there was 12 hills long enough to be graphically displayed. And many fast downhills.
the last group of riders about 8 or 9 (guessing there were 4 in the lead group) split off at the featured climb where 2 of the oldest members did the climb and the rest rested for the future climbs.
