The day was cool early on and rose into the high 70's at the end of the ride.

We decided to take the route that avoided RT 20 but that was no favorable since there was lots of traffic and a not so wide shoulder.  The next ride leader for this should mention this.

 

So there were 8 of us which broke into a fast four and a moderate four group.

When the moderate group returned, the twilight zone group appeared back at the start.  Some went back home but a group went to the Blue Fish something restaurant and by 5pm they wondered where the time went.

 

So, on this ride of note was an interesting set of clouds.  At the 24 mile mark for the moderate group, we saw first a reddish linear cloud to the right of a larger eliptical one.  Then the linear one got wider and looked like a rainbow imprinted on it.  Then on the left of the larger was another linear one in size that was darker blue than the sky blue.  The twilight zone group also noticed this same coloring.

 

We also had above us a helicopter and some flying geese.

 

No mechanicals noted.

All 8 riders did the 35 miles.

The next day was the Ride and Run for the Rescue.

I think alt least a dozen OCC members participated.

The group of 7 I rode with stayed together for the most part except at the last segment we separated and became the Twilight Zone group.

Mike was the sweep or he would have joined us 7.

There was a yellow jacket sting on lip and jaw on one of the 7 as we were doing a fast downhill.  Luckily at a rest stop one of the riders had a pill of Benadryl.
