Mother Nature can be a bit petulent. I did not expect any precipitation until after 8pm. While the temperture (74 degrees) and S-SE breeze (7mph) were consistent with the predictions, scattered rain drops began to fall while the TTers were on the course. Luckily, the rain never intensified.
I had predicted that the conditions were very favorable for faster times. I contend a SE breeze is best. The results below speak for themselves.
We had seven TTers roll up to the start line. Three did so for the first time! Welcome Sam, Jade and Zoe! Mo Howard crushed the course in his TTbike rig to take the Fastest Man Time (FMT) with a PR time of 24:43(24.27mph). That is 32 seconds faster than his previous best! We had a battle for the best time in the Road bike category. Mike Hopper and Sam Morse blasted through the course in phenomenal identical times of 25:25(23.62mph). I'd have to research it, but, I'm pretty sure these times are in the top 5 for the Road category since we've categorized TTers nine years ago. John Rice smoked the course and lowered his PR by 11 seconds with a time of 26:04 (23.02mph). The Fastest Woman Time (FWT) was posted by Zoe Zhu in her inaugural run through the course. She cruised it in a time of 28:28(21.08mph) even though she temporarily missed the last right turn. Rich O'Neil had his best time in over 3 years and eclipsed his best 2025 time by almost 2 minutes!

The Spanish Grand Tour Vuelta a Espana starts this Saturday ! Go sign up for a month of Peacock streaming service to watch each day. Four of the first nine stages will be mountain stages. Roglic and Vingegaard will be among those competing. It should be exciting.
