Hi Everyone,

The next Slow ‘n Easy West ride is scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2015.  The rides will leave from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus located on Warners Rd (Rt 173).  Our rides will start promptly at 6:00 PM.  Please arrive early so that the rides can depart on time to take advantage of the available daylight.

While it is rather cold and nasty today with clouds and scattered showers, the forecast for the weather on Tuesday shows mostly cloudy weather with a high temperature of 64 degrees. No rain in the forecast at present.  Hopefully the forecast will improve over the next 24 hours and we will get some sun.  Let’s hope for the best.

If you bought a new bike this season to get into riding or already have one, this is the ride for you.  This ride has a mix of routes that fit a wide range of skill levels and abilities.  From beginners to more experienced riders.  If you want to enjoy the camaraderie and social aspects of riding, this is also a perfect ride for you.  Don’t wait for the season to pass you by… get off the couch and come out Tuesday evening and give it a try.

You are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these rides.  If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store.  No helmet…no ride...no exceptions.  Riding without a helmet can be very dangerous…and our insurance requires it.

The SnE ride is open to all members of the club as well as guests who have an interest in the sport.  Guests are encouraged to come out with us on a ride and see if they like what we offer.  If they do enjoy the ride, then we invite them to join the club and become a member so that they can take advantage of all the other club rides and activities for the year.  Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season.  Membership applications are available at rides or you can join on line by going to our website.

So, join us Tuesday evening May 17th  for the next S’nE West ride.

    Where:  Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (parking lot on west end near tennis courts)

                                    When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                    Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride; with the warmer weather, you’ll want to stay hydrated

                                    Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this

Mike Lyon and I expect to be there with all of our other ride leaders to help you get the most out of your bike.  Stay around after the ride to enjoy our usual treats.

PS:  The OCC bike promotion is still in effect…buy a new bike at a local bike shop (not Walmart, Dick’s or similar stores) and you will be eligible to get a free single 2016 OCC membership.  Just fill in the registration form and send it in or bring it to the ride.  This is not for renewals of existing members.  If you don’t get the forms be sure to ask the shop for them.  We want you to get to know us.
