It was a very nice night to hit the TT course. Temps hovered around 80 degrees, low humidity and a breeze that tailed off to about 4-5 mph. Pretty darn good conditions for late May.
The good news is that we had two more TT course newbies give it a go. Welcome Alex Johnson and Amy Kneale ! The less good news is that only two others came to do battle with the course.
Alex trekked from the B'ville area to do it and he is glad he did...... He smoked the course with the fastest time so far in 2016 with a 24:06 (24.9 mph ave). The fastest woman time in 2016 was also set last night - Amy Kneale with a 26:11 (22.92 mph ave). The fastest youth was 13 year old Mariana Rinaldo with a 30:03 (19.97 mph ave) Paul Kocher honing his TT skills for the upcoming senior games established a new PR by taking 2:11 off of his time from last week.
The long range forecast looks very favorable for next Tuesday. Let's hope it holds!

Subject: OCC Tuesday night Time Trial East Results - #1
The inaugural time trial of 2016 went off without a hitch. As predicted, the skies cleared and the combatants were greeted with warm sunshine, a gentle 5-6mph NW breeze and temps around 60 degrees. Believe it or not, the temps rose from 58 deg at 6:09 to 60 deg at 6:19 ! Just enough to make it comfy for the riders while they waited in line. Pretty good conditions for a time trial. I'd rate it an 8 out of 10.
We had 11 TTers roll to the start line to take on the TT East course. Five of the riders were TT East newbies establishing a benchmark time that they will strive to beat on future TTs.
The fastest time of the evening was set by Tiago Barreira - 24:09 (24.84mph). The fastest woman was Annie Porter at 28:23 (21.14 mph). We had several riders come close to their PRs from last year and Ben Rabin beat his PR by 32 seconds. It appears that people have been training hard over the winter months and are now laying down some impressive times - especially considering it is only mid-May.

Last year we had 30 different people participate in the East Time Trial. It would be great to see this grow to more than 40 with at least half of the people showing up each week. If we get 20 participants, we'll have a drawing for a highly valued prize!
Come on out and give it a go!
