This Saturday and Sunday, October 22nd and 23rd the Onondaga Cycling Club and MaxPower race team are hosting our annual cyclocross race in Long branch Park: The Salt City Cyclocross Spectacular!  This is a really fun event, and if you've never been to a bike race, you should definitely plan to attend: The first race is at 10:00 am, and we wrap-up at 2:30 pm.

As with all of our events, the success hinges on getting volunteers out to help with the set-up and tear-down.  We set-up the course on Friday, make some adjustments on Saturday, and Sunday is tear-down after the race.

We can definitely use your help, as we've seen in the past, getting a good turn-out on Friday makes the set-up go quickly.

You can volunteer via the link to SignUpGenius; it's very quick and easy.

Some notes regarding the course set-up

Thursday:
There will be NO setup on Thursday this year due to a XC race at the park. If you signed up for Thursday, please come on Friday instead.

Friday:
Course setup on Friday will start at 2pm and will go until finished. Noel will be there at ~1pm if anyone can/wants to come earlier. If you have leaf rakes, leaf blowers, sledge hammers or post drivers please bring them.

Saturday:
We will need course marshals throughout the entire race day. Please look for Noel and he will direct you to what area(s) to cover. Your job will be to look for broken tape, down stakes, etc and repair as needed. The race starts at 10am, so please be there at 9am. I'll have a quick meeting at 9.

If you signed up to help in registration. Please be there by 9am and look for Noel or Don Butler. Once registration has closed - there should be no racers entering the office. If someone is looking for race results they will be posted at the pavilion.

Immediately following the last race on Sat (~2:30pm), we will be resetting the course for Sunday. This will mainly be the areas near the stairs (run-up) and the big hill. Do not start making any course changes until directed by Dave Faso or Noel.

Sunday:
Again, course marshals should be there between 9-9:30am. Job duties are the same as Saturday - repairing the course as needed during the race day. There is a kids race that will be held on the ball field immediately following the last race of the day (~2:45pm). We will need 2 people to help move a few stakes and tape for this. During this time, the remainder of the course can be dismantled.

If you have any questions please email Noel Bonk at coach@PROTECTED or call/text me at 315-420-5463

Thanks!
