Although the 2016 cycling season is winding down as the days get shorted and colder, the Onondaga Cycling Club is working on plans for the 2017. Something new we're planning on adding for 2017 is an actively managed race team.
The Onondaga Cycling Club has a long history of bike racing, having joined USACycling in 1983. We've run events like Syracuse Race Weekend and Cyclocross races for decades, and for a long time we've also fielded a club sponsored race team.
It's been quite a while since the OCC has had a formal race team, but we'd like to change that for 2017. Although the team will have a focus on racing development, so if you don't know the slightest thing about bike race, but you think you would like to give it a try, then this would be a great starting point. We will also be open to junior cyclists looking to become involved in the sport. Of course we will also be open to anyone interested in bike racing at any skill level. In addition to people interested in racing, we're also looking anyone interested in helping in organizing the team.
If you're at all interested, have questions or comments, then
please contact me via my number or e-mail address below. There is
also a page
under development on the OCC web site that's been created
for the team.
