This year proceeds will benefit the Pedals to Possibilities program at the Brady Faith Center (http://bradyfaithcenter.org/).  The program runs 3 times a week year round for a minimum of 3 hours/day. People regularly stay longer to fix bikes, their own or a neighbor’s.  It needs to be noted that the BFC offers much more than a bicycle ride 3 times a week.  At the core of BFC is a diverse community who offer friendship to those who are struggling with homelessness, extreme poverty, mental health needs, exclusion, loneliness and trauma.  In addition, the BFC is a neighborhood bike shop which empowers and allows people the ability to stay riding when their bike breaks down, gets damaged or stolen. They have 2 staff at the BFC during program times to facilitate the multiple needs that arise.  However, most of the critical roles of this program are executed by volunteers.  Volunteers lead our rides, provide and cook a meal after each ride, do bike repairs and organize the bike shed with tools and parts.  Almost 300 people have earned a bicycle, helmet and lock by completing 10 rides with us.  Here’s a short video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FfYq1PJCuo
