Hi Everyone,

Once again, the weather appeared to be the controlling issue for the SnEW ride.  Last night there were 15 members and no guests for a total of 15 riders.  These riders covered a total of 220 miles.

I referenced the weather as the forecast for Tuesday only called for rain in the AM giving way to dry and partial sun.  Well the rain was gone by the time the ride started and the sun did break through part way through the ride.  That said, I think most of our regular riders saw the rain and how the forecast had been so wrong earlier in the day and decided to bag the ride.

I was tied up with another event and got there after everyone went off with the rides.  It was raining where I was and I doubted it would clear in time myself.  But I congratulate those hardy folks who did come out.  We had our usual rides with Mike Lyon leading an 18 mile route and Mark Perrin, Dean Connery, Roland Pearson and Al Storrings taking out the short/easy 10 mile road ride.  Dale Barnell took Tom H’s 20 mile ride out in his absence and a big thanks goes out to Dale for his help. The days are really getting short and when it is overcast like yesterday, it really gets dark…early.

I’m not sure if there will be a ride next Tuesday.  It will all depend on the weather and the shortness of daylight.  The Wednesday rides are starting at 5:30 due to the shorter days but many of our riders are really pushed to make it for the 6:00 start.  We’ll see.  Watch for my weekend email.
