SNEW logo.jpgHi to all our SnEW Riders,

Tuesday will be upon us shortly.  Come on out to Reed Webster Park in Camillus on Rt 173 (Warners Rd) and give the ride a try.  We’ll be leaving at 6:00PM as usual so please don’t come rolling in at 5:59PM to go out with the groups.  You need to be ready to roll at 6:00 PM.  Starting late is not fair to all those who arrive on time.  Sign in will start around 5:30 PM, shortly after I or Mike arrive.

We will have our usual choice of rides for those who come.  Tom Hotaling will be using option #5, a 25 mile challenge.  Check out the route on the club website and print yourself a copy of the route.  Mike will have his usual +/-20 mile loop for those who consider themselves intermediates while Mark Perrin and his gang will be doing the easy 10 mile (maybe 13) highway loop.  I’ll be there to lead a very comfortable canal loop for beginners or those who just want to take it easy.  We have something for everyone’s ability and remember that other than Tom’s ride, all the other rides are “no drop” rides.

Sure has cooled down since last week’s ride when we had a record setting 60 riders come out.  I hope we have a good turnout this week even though it will be s bit cooler.  AccuWether is forecasting”mostly cloudy, a couple of showers…” with a high of 59degrees for the day.  You may want your base layers or leg warmers.  Rain may arrive in the morning so it should be dry enough to ride in the evening.  Not exactly a perfect summer’s day but it is Syracuse.

Each week I keep challenging all of you to come out and try the ride…especially if you are new to riding.  If you have a bike and it is just collecting dust in the garage or basement, pull it out, clean it up and check tire pressures.  Pump them up if they are low and bring your bikes out to the ride on Tuesday.  While it may be cool, you will probably still have a good time.  You can come as our guest if you are not a member.  Members are always welcome to come out.  Check in with me or Mike if you do.  We’ll be there to answer any questions you have and look over your bike if you have any questions.  Dress for the weather…you don’t necessarily need bike clothes…just be comfortable for now.

We do require you to wear a DOT approved bike helmet on the ride.  No helmet…no ride…our insurance requires this. They are not expensive as long as you don’t go for the fancy racing models and as long as they meet the standards you are OK…and so is your head.

Here are the details:

   Where:  Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (lot on west end near tennis courts)

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride;

  Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.  Be sure to have an approved helmet to ride.  No helmet…no ride.  Our insurance requires this.

I’m looking forward to seeing you this Tuesday.  Watch your email around 4:00-4:30 PM for ride status. If there are any changes, I will post them in an email.

Ciao,

Tony
