SNEW logo.jpgHi Everyone,

We are quickly coming up on another Slow ‘n Easy West ride this Tuesday evening.  As usual, the ride will begin at 6:00 PM from Reed Webster Park on Warners Rd (RT173) in Camillus.  Plan on your choice of one of four different rides from very easy to most difficult.  Tom Hotaling the ride leader for our experienced and hardy riders has chosen option #1 this week, a loop of 23 miles.  Mike Lyon will lead a group of intermediate level riders on a course of around 20-22 miles.  Mark Perrin and his leaders will be doing their usual 10-13 mile easy all highway ride while I will take all riders who want an easy jaunt along the canal that will run about 10 miles.  Pick the ride that suites your riding ability and have a fun night.  All rides other than the experienced group are “no drop” rides…no one gets left behind.

Those of you that came last week had a dry ride but it was a bit cooler than one might expect for June 5th.  Looking at the AccuWeather long range forecast, I get that feeling that the weather has done a turnabout.  Tuesday is showing “…Rather cloudy…” as the forecast with a high of 82o.  A bit more comfortable.

Won’t be long before we reach the solstice and the days begin to grow shorter.  As I have said in the past: if this ride is not on your bucket list, it should be.  Many of you have been wanting to do this ride or get back into riding again.  Don’t put it off or the season will be over…this is Syracuse!  Get that bike out, check out the mechanics and the tire pressures and come on out.  We welcome guests who want to give us a try.  If you like it, you can always join up and enjoy the rest of the season before it is gone.  You don’t need special clothes…dress comfortably.  You only need a DOT  approved bike helmet to protect your noggin.  You can’t ride on these rides without one…insurance…but it is good.  You will enjoy the group as well as the riding.

The details in brief:

         Where:  Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (lot on west end near tennis courts)

                                        When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride;

   Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.  Be sure to have an approved helmet to ride.  No helmet…no ride.  Our insurance requires this.

Mike Lyon and I look forward to meeting you all this Tuesday…come on out!  Mike and I are usually there early so we can answer any questions you might have about the ride or the club.

See you Tuesday,

Tony

PS:  Don’t forget our membership bike promotion.  By a new bike at any local bike shop and get a free membership for 2018.  This only applies to people who have not been members of the club previously and a bike shop is not Walmart, Target, Dicks etc.
