Hi all - please read below for some important club updates

Ride Sheets/Ride Leader Responsibility:  Based on feedback from members, the Board decided that riders are no longer required to sign out when they return from a ride, and ride leaders do NOT need to wait for all riders to finish the ride.  All riders must sign in for the ride at the start, and write down your anticipated mileage.  If riders have an incident on the road, please make sure to contact the ride leader by email or phone (contact info on the ride schedule) after the ride.  Ride leaders will still need to scan or mail the ride sheets to Don.  

Syracuse Road Race: This race, scheduled for Sunday, August 19th, has been cancelled.  The reasons were two-fold.  One, there were too few riders signed up to make it financially feasible to hold the race.  Two, there were too few volunteers that had signed up help out at the race.  We said before that volunteers make these events happen, and conversely, the lack of volunteers can make it impossible to conduct a race.  I would like to thank those who had signed up to volunteer.  Your willingness to give up a Sunday to help out did not go unnoticed.

Membership Director: After many years as membership director, Peg Hotaling has decided to step down from the position.  Thank you, Peg, for your hard work for the club.  We are now seeking a new membership director.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact me.

OCC Charity Ride: Registration will open soon for the Club Charity Ride, to be held September 15th.  We could use a volunteer for the aid station in Phoenix.  If you can help out, please contact Mike Lyon at ridebent@PROTECTED

OCC Cyclocross: Our club-sponsored cyclocross race will be held on October 20-21st.  If you are interested in being on the race committee, contact Todd at brewer13210@PROTECTED  We will be looking for volunteers for this race, so please help out if you can.
