Survey/Ride Leaders/Rides: Thank you to those who completed the survey we sent last month. Your responses were very helpful to the Board in determining what our members would like from the club. One of the main topics in the survey was ride leaders. Based on your feedback, we will try and make it clearer what it expected (and not expected) of ride leaders. During this past year, we changed the ride leader duties such that the leader did not need to stay until the end of the ride. Based on your feedback, some of our members were very unhappy with that change, and it did not have the desired effect of encouraging more people to sign up to be ride leaders. So, next year we will be going back to requiring ride leaders to stay until all riders are back and accounted for.
Another topic of the survey was ride start times, and that was an issue for which there was no clear consensus: half the members wanted things to stay the same, the other half wanted earlier start times. Next year, we will be keeping the ride start times the same except for the month of August, when the weekend rides will start at 8:00 a.m.
Please continue giving the board feedback on any changes (or lack of changes). We know we can't please everyone, but we would like to stay on track with what our members want.
Voler clothing: The club clothing order has just been shipped to our club coordinator, Mary Jeavons. Mary will send out an email about distribution once she receives the order. Stay tuned.
I hope you all enjoy the off-season, whether fat biking or other outdoor riding, skiing, or using the indoor trainer.
See you at the banquet,
Colleen Farrell
