Hello Past and Future SOTR climbers,

Well, Ground Hog day is behind us and it looks like we'll be getting an early spring!!!  What better way to celebrate than to sign-up and commit to riding the Storming of Thunder Ridge on May 19, 2019 and celebrate our 10th year anniversary by riding with us (www.stormingofthunderridge.org).

Our YMCA's first riding of SOTR was back on May 23, 2010 with a great group of 112 riders - were you one of the originals?   If so, please post something on our Facebook Page -- we'd love to hear from you!!!  There are 14 riders that have ridden every SOTR since -- mostly all locals to the Lynchburg area:  Landon Carter, Mike Collado, Sarah Davidson, Gary Devol, James Harrington, Jon Hazen, Jim Jordan, Brad Malcolm, Lisa Fort, Ray Reed (now living in Mechanicsville, VA), Kenley Richards, Danny Rivers, and Betsy Vanderburgh.  Many thanks to them for their continued support :)

We will be offering 5 Routes in 2019 compared to our 3 in 2010.  Something for EVERYONE!!!!  You can ride 27 miles in the foothills, or you can ride upto 100 miles including 22 miles on the Blue Ridge Parkway!  Each route has lots of support with fully stocked rest stops with volunteers cheering you on and giving you the encouragement that you need, signs & course markings, SAG drivers, Ham Radio operators, a finish line to check you in and welcome you HOME, a HOT SHOWER, and a post-ride meal, swim, hot-tub, and time to celebrate with your friends and fellow climbers.

PLEASE SHARE THIS EMAIL WITH YOUR FRIENDS!!!   We'd love to have our biggest ride on our 10th anniversary -- that would be > 651 riders - we can do it with your help -- we are almost half-way there.

More to come in a few days!   This email is already too long :)   Happy riding - and remember that every ride should be fun and it's all about the journey!

Have a great Sunday and I hope you get a chance to enjoy this nice weather that we have finally been given.

See you ALL soon,

Paula
