Hi to all our SnEW Riders,

I am sorry that I got tied up yesterday and did not get a chance to get this SNEW logo.jpgout like I always do.  One good thing was that the forecast for Tuesday seems to have improved a bit.  Tuesday’s Slow ‘n Easy West Ride will be upon us tomorrow.  Come on out to Reed Webster Park in Camillus on Rt 173 (Warners Rd) and give the ride a try.  We’ll be leaving at 6:00PM as usual.  You need to be ready to roll at 6:00 PM.  Sign-in will start around 5:30 PM.

We will have our usual choice of rides for those who come.  In addition to a 10 mile real easy canal route we also offer a 10 mile slow highway route (easy), an intermediate highway route of 18-20 miles (more challenging and faster)  and a very challenging faster and hillier 20-25 mile route for all those who want to go home tired (it will be a workout).  Four different rides to choose from. Other than the “challenge” ride, all the rides are no drop rides.  You won’t be left behind. Tom Hotaling, our “challenge” leader will be using option #6, a 25 mile loop.  Check out the ride on the club website and print yourself a copy of the route.

The weather so far this season has been very ugly from what we have been accustomed to over the last several years L.  AccuWether is forecasting” Partly sunny; breezy…” with a high of 69 degrees for the day.  Not exactly a perfect summer’s evening to ride but it is Syracuse…it can change!  No hurricanes, tornadoes wildfires etc…and I did not see rain???

Each week I keep challenging all of you to come out and try the ride…especially if you are new to riding.  If you have a bike and it is just collecting dust in the garage or basement, pull it out, clean it up and check tire pressures and the brakes.  Pump them up if they are low and bring your bikes out to the ride on Tuesday.  While it may be cool riding, you will probably still have a good time.  You can come as our guest if you are not a member. Check in with Mike if you do. Members are always welcome to come out.   We’ll be there to answer any questions you have and look over your bike if you have any questions.  Dress for the weather…you don’t necessarily need bike clothes…just be comfortable for now.

We do require you to wear a DOT approved bike helmet on the ride.  No helmet…no ride…our insurance requires this. Helmets are not expensive as long as you don’t go for the fancy racing models and as long as they meet the standards you are OK…and so is your head.

Here are the details:

   Where:  Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (lot on west end near tennis courts)

                                        When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride;

  Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.  Be sure to have an approved helmet to ride.  No helmet…no ride.  Our insurance requires this.

We look forward to seeing you this Tuesday,

Ciao,

Mike and Tony
