It was nice to see the weather actually be better than what was forecasted for the start time. We had partly sunny skies, temperature around 78 degrees and very light 2-3mph puffs from the NW.
We had six individuals and a 3-man Salty Chimps team show up to do battle with the TT course.
Alex Johnson, again, led the way with an FMT time of 24:13 (24.78 mph). Mariano Rinaldo took the FWT with a time of 29:04 (20.64 mph). Unfortunately, she was the only woman on 2 wheels riding Tuesday night. Never the less, she was only 2 secs off of her time from last week. Alex was 15 seconds faster. Jill Walsh was 22 seconds faster this week and that was without any warm-up! Ken Toscano had a RoadAero PR (beat by 14 sec) of 26:25 (22.71 mph). While he had faster times in 2016, we think he used aerobars which would now put him in the TT bike category.
Our 3-man Team consisted of Fred Bulkin, Ken Hammond and Ben Rabin. Unfortunately, they lost their 3rd man around the 6 mile mark. So, their time reflects the time when rider three crossed the line. We did note the time for the first two riders just to provide data for them for future attempts.
Good luck to Jill Walsh next Thursday at the National Championships in Nashville, TN !!
Til next week.....
