Hi Everyone,
This week’s Slow ‘n Easy West ride is set for this coming Tuesday, September 10, 2019 leaving at 6:00 PM from Reed Webster
Park in Camillus on Rt 173 (Van Buren Rd.). We hope you can join us on this last Tuesday ride of the 2019 season of the SnEW and enjoy this final opportunity. Sign-in opens at around 5:30 PM in the west end parking lot near the tennis courts.
Accuweather is forecasting “…Periods of clouds and sunshine; nice” on Tuesday with a forecasted high of 77 degrees. They are actually saying it will be “nice” J WOW! Hopefully the forecast will remain good.
As I have commented previously, the SnEW ride is one of the club’s most popular weeknight rides. You get to pick the ride you want to do from a group of four. We will have a choice of 4 rides for those who join us. There is a 10 mile real easy canal/highway route but, we also offer a 10 mile slow, all highway route (easy). We have an intermediate all highway route of 18-20 miles (more challenging and faster…Mike’s choice each week) and a very challenging faster and hillier 20-27 mile route for all those who are looking for a biking workout. Four different rides to choose from. Other than the “challenge” ride, all the rides are no-drop rides. You won’t be left behind. Tom Hotaling, our “challenge” leader, reminds me that this is the last Tuesday of the month so he will be using hillier option #4 a nice 22 mile challenge. If you feel up to this, give it a try.
If you have not tried SnEW Ride yet, this is your last chance. Come and see if you like it; if you do like it, you have something to look forward to in 2020. Find your bike, check it out and come out this Tuesday evening. This ride is open to all guests as well as regular members of the club. (Remember, if you have not yet renewed your membership from 2018…you are not a member and must sign in as a guest.) Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season. If you like the ride experience, join the club on-line or use a hard copy membership application available at rides. Remember, there are still a lot of great OCC rides before the cycling season closes…and hopefully we’ll have a nice mild and DRY fall. While the SnEW Ride will end Tuesday, there are still many other club rides you can join and have a great time.
All OCC rides require riders to wear a DOT approved bike helmet. If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store. No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…our insurance requires it.
Here are the details in a nutshell:
