It poured. I mean it was a veritable cloud burst....when I was putting my bike in the car to get to the ride. Haven't seen that kind of rain in quite a while. I knew though that the ride location was going to be rain free. The rain cooled the temps at home to 74 degrees. When I got to Great Northern Mall it was sunny and not a drop had fallen. It was 87 degrees.
Eight riders rode 34 miles in warm, sultry and cloudless conditions. Not even a breath of a breeze. My absolute favorite conditions to ride in. It was a very enjoyable ride.
I know it was the first Wednesday night ride of the season but I hope we get more participation. I remember back in the day when Joan Y and I ran these rides for 12 years sometimes we would get 80 riders. Yikes!! Those were the days....
