A blustery NW breeze made for the most challenging conditions our TTers have had this year. They were up for the challenge. We had two new TTers put down their inaugural times and they are already talking about coming back to attempt to eclipse them in the weeks ahead. Welcome Mark and Drew!
We were one second away from having a 3-way tie for the Fastest Man Time ! Ken Toscano battled the winds to only a 16 second deficit to his PR with a time of 25:53 (23.19mph). He did this on his road bike with general purpose aero wheels. Not to be out done, new comer Drew Butler equaled Ken's time on his TT bike. And only 1 second off the pace was Sean Kesselring with a time of 25:54.
Next week will be our first TT in September and, of course, the sun is setting earlier. I'd like to start the TT next week at 6:00pm. The first 3 miles of the course are due West and we'd don't want the lower sun to be a problem for drivers to clearly see the TTers.
Remember, the Tour de France starts this Saturday!! Hopefully, it will go off without a hitch, unlike, basketball and baseball in the US. I must say I'm a little less psyched not having Froome and Thomas competing.
