Due to the early setting sun I have moved the start time up to 6:00 pm.
The forecast is looking good... Temps in the high 70s, partly sunny with a brisk 11mph South breeze.
A south wind is not as bad as a NW breeze. For the first 8 miles riders should experience a cross wind or a slight tailwind. The last 2 miles of the course finishes to the south, but the wind should be partially blocked by the trees. Today's conditions would have been ideal - 8mph SSE wind. SSE wind is optimal on this course.
Wow! It's already September! Almost Labor Day! It must be Tour de France time! oops, that would be the around the 4th of July time frame. Better 2 months later than never. Just finished watching my recording of Stage 2.. Wow! what a finish! I didn't state it in my last write-up, but my favorite rider is Alaphillippe. I'm sure I'm not alone in that. He rides with so much passion and is always in the mix. And, of course, he challenged for the yellow jersey last year and wasn't overtaken until the last days of the Tour. In Stage 2 he displayed his fitness and great tactics. How many of you were yelling at those three riders to stop playing "cat and mouse" and get to the finish before the peloton over takes them! Peloton was only 1-2 seconds behind at finish!
See ya on the course.
