Hi Doug,
I hope you're doing well!
I'm a writer reaching out from Bicycling Magazine. We're working on a fun online story about the best rides around the U.S. for experiencing the fall colors.
Would someone from the club be up for sharing one of your favorite local(ish) rides for seeing the fall colors? Or an "iconic" local ride that people like to do to see the leaves? The rides can be mountain bike, road cycling, gravel biking — anything with the best leaves!
We're hoping to quote a local cyclist to get some tips and tricks for the route. Ideally, the routes would be for intermediate-level cyclists and would take a few hours from start to finish.
Here's a little template of what we're looking for:
Name (if it has one):
Location (ie southern Pennsylvania, etc):
Length and format (one-way? loop?):
Estimated time to complete:
Best time of year to see the fall colors on this route (roughly):
General description of the ride:
Your 1-2 tips for making the most of the ride (parking, gear, time of day, hydration, stops, weird quirks people need to know, etc. etc.):
My deadline is EOD Wednesday, if possible. I'm happy to chat through in more detail if that's helpful!
Thank you so much!
Warmly,
Sarah Kuta
