No rain and reasonably cool temperatures made climbing up a gravelly Cowles Settlement Rd. only slightly more pleasant. Most of the 13 riders chose the 39 mile option. Tiago did 50 and got back only a few minutes after us. Another rider opted to do 58 by himself. Unfortunately there was an accident on East Lake Rd coming back when 2 riders’ wheels touched and, as usual, the person behind got the worst of it and went down. OCC women are tough though and, despite scrapes, cuts and bumps, she got back on her bike and pedaled back to the parking lot. Speaking of women it is worth noting that almost half of the contingent today ( 6 of 13) were female. Not often that I have that much company.
