Subject: Deadline Extended: Take the New York State Cycling Census by 5/31
Dear Michael,
The first-ever New York Cycling Census has received more than 13,000 responses so far, but organizers don't want to stop there. In an effort to make sure the survey results truly reflect the demographics of New York State — including more women riders, riders of color, low-income New Yorkers and folks who don't bike often or at all — the closing date has been extended through May 31.
This is an exciting and unprecedented opportunity to help shape the future of bicycling and document where, why and how New Yorkers are riding bikes. This survey information will help shape public policy to foster safer streets and more equitable transportation options across the state. Please share the survey widely with your networks.
Administered by Urban Cycling Solutions (UCS), the Cycling Census will collect a
statewide dataset on bicycle integration with mass transit. The purpose of this short
survey is to collect insights from cyclists and transit users to better understand opportunities and barriers for active first/last-mile transportation throughout New York. This survey is supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
The data collected from this survey will be used to assist decision makers in developing a more inclusive and equitable multimodal transportation system. Your email address and other personal information will not be saved or shared. Census participants will be entered to win one of three $150 Planet Bike gift cards offered by UCS.
Are you a bicycle retailer? Use your platforms to amplify this survey so the survey reaches as many riders as possible!
Together, we can make bike riding better for everyone.
