The conditions tonight were consistent with the weather forecast. Winds were puffing out off the SSE to possibly SE direction at about 9mph. While I was sweeping the course I was surprised at how strong it was at the 6-8 mile mark against the TTers. And then coming back to the start the flags seemed limp. ruh-roh... not a good sign. I had hoped to see a strong tailwind for the first 5 miles that would more than make up for the struggle at NW part of the course.
The nice weather brought out 9 TTers to pit themselves against themselves. Ron Nelson smashed the course with an FMT of 24:04 (24.94mph) - only 18 seconds off his PR time. Susan Andersson garnered the Fastest Woman Time (FWT) by eviscerating the course in a time of 25:26 (23.59mph). The Fastest Jr was Kaleb Toscano who managed to eclipse his time from last week by 2 seconds even after completing a windy century ride on Saturday.
Turns out the course played out to be slightly faster than last week - perhaps 10-15 seconds on average.
Thanks to Wendy for assisting as the backup manual timer.
Ten days til the start of the TDF !
