I am the ride leader for the "Alps" ride tomorrow. As the name indicates, there is a fair amount of climbing on all route options (65-75ft per mile) with a sustained 13% grade on Moonhill.
On the web site, the Ride w GPS link on the calendar shows the 50 mile route and cue sheet for it. The map link also shows a 35ish mile option as well as a longer 70 mile option. The cue sheet tries to describe the 70 mile route. It's got some weird road labels in it. I'd refer to the Ride w GPS cue sheet for the 50mile route if you are not familiar with the roads. I MAY do a 62 mile option that will take a left onto Willowdale from Moonhill, right on ColdBrook, left on 41 and a right on Vincent Hill to get to Glen Haven.
For the 50mile rides and longer, Skaneateles should provide an opportunity to get some water. That would be around the 32 mile mark for the 50 mile route and the 44 mile mark for the 62 mile route.
Please familiarize yourself with the route as I will not be bringing paper maps and cue sheets. If you need a cue sheet, I'd print the cue sheet from the Ride w GPS link. It is the most accurate. Or use the on-bike navigation from the Ride w GPS app running on your phone. If you are not familiar with it and would like to use it please let me know. One of the perks of being an OCC member is being able to use our club account. I'll send you the link.
Temps will top out at around 83 degrees with partly sunny/cloudy skies - should be nice!
See ya there?
