Hello,
I was able to create a 25 mile no drop route for tomorrow morning, we will be riding at a slower more accessible pace than the main group.
Two changes from the 50 and above rides:
1. We will ride out from Lions Botanical Park, 413 - 453 Dyke Road, Chittenango to avoid the difficult to impossible (for me and others) hill back up to Sullivan Park. I will have a sign in sheet that I will forward to Paul Vogelwede to add to the half and century rider totals.
2. We will ride at 9:00 a.m., not the 8:00 time for the half century plus riders (I hope I can join you next year!)
**IF YOU ARE RIDING THE HALF CENTURY, THE METRIC CENTURY, OR THE CENTURY, PLEASE USE THE ORIGINAL RIDE INFORMATION LISTED BELOW.**
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE arrive in time to gear up, load your water bottles, use the bathroom, etc. so that you’re ready to roll at 9:00. Also please bring hydration and whatever munchies you refuel with. We’ll take a pit stop in Canastota for anyone who needs it (me!)
Below is a photo of the ride route. It’s my understanding that there’s at least a portapotty at the ride start.
If you have the paid version of Ride with GPS, here’s a Link:
Hope to see some friendly faces tomorrow morning!
From: jpaulwede@PROTECTED A club tradition continues on Tuesday July 4 at 8:00 a.m. and the 100 mile ride offering. Chittenango (Sullivan) Town Park is the start location. Maps can be found here: https://onondagacyclingclub.org/ride_calendar/index.php?op=ShowEvent&id=4936
If 100 miles and an 8 am start aren’t your thing, we have metric century and 52 mile options as well. Karen Kelly indicated she will lead a 20- something mile option and that she will follow up with details. I will leave the sign up sheet on my Silver Toyota Camry so if you arrive at the park after the centurions have left please sign in and out.
As of right now the forecast is for a humid 80 degrees and a 40% chance of afternoon showers. I am including Ed Chin’s handy guide for refueling stops from last year’s ride:
Century 20 miles Sunoco gas station
32, 66 miles New London Food Mart
45 miles Stewarts shops
53 miles Delta Lake State park
57 Miles Circle K
86 mi Byrne Dairy
93 Market, near Graystone Castle
63 Mile ride 20 mi Sunoco Station Durhamville
45 Mi Circle K
53 mi Market near Graystone Castle
Hope to see you on the 4th!

P.S. Neilson Powless in the polka dot jersey (king of the mountains) early in the Tour de France! Chapeau to the American rider!
