Wow! A fantastic turnout for Saturday’s rather breezy Fayetteville - Happy Valley ride. Nineteen members and two guests - one of whom was riding solo in the area and joined one of the groups - rode creative distances from 22 to 66 miles, for a total of 928. That Tag Road detour is making it interesting on the east side.
The 38 mile ride turned into 43 between the detour and being routed over a road that no longer exists. Thankfully a rider who grew up and still lives in that area took the lead to get everyone around and back to the start. Quote of the day: “He knows the roads out there better than Ride With GPS.” My apologies to all who rode an unexpected extra five miles - the course review committee will put our heads together on this one. Kudos also to those who rode New Boston - construction everywhere affected routes that went along that road.
Wind, detours, road changes, and construction - but people came back smiling and asking what’s up next. We’re a hardy group! It was great to see everyone! Hope to see you again soon!
