Don't let the drive distance discourage you from this gem of a ride that only a small number got to enjoy last year as it was scheduled for Friday. The start in Erwin Park is easily accessed off RT 12 onto the Cemetery Rd parking lots. The ride follows flat sections along the Black river and hits the 1st hill cutting over to the Moose river. We usually take a short detour down to Ager Falls, which is one of the best swimming holes in the state. We'll follow the drop of the river to Lyons Falls, where it joins the Black. Then we start our 1st big climb up to Turin and follow the flat eastern edge of the Tug Hill, with nice expansive views of the Black and Mowhawk valleys, which split the TUG from the western ADK's. After passing through Constableville, the 2nd big climb brings us up onto a lovely flat to rolling farm road which eventually descends to West Lyden. There is a stop and shop here for pit stop and water. The final section of this 50mi loop is a rolling downhill back to Booneville.
In lew of no cookies, the nearby Stewarts has a nice selection of ice cream. If there is sunny, hot weather, some of us wlll drive back up to Ager Falls for a swim. Hope you can join us.
