The conditions were pretty much as forecasted - 78 degrees with a firm 8mph WNW breeze. And there was the challenge of the newly oiled and stoned section of Kirkville Rd. Given the less than favorable wind and stoned section of road I was predicting the times to be negatively impacted by about 20 seconds. Now to the results !
Four TTers were up for the challenge. Hop blasted through the course and took FMT honors with a time of 24:43(24.28mph). Darn impressive considering his partaking of a 70 mile 4000+ ft of climbing on Sunday. Jade took the TT bike out for a spin and took FWT honors with a tme of 27:41 (21.67mph) - 16 seconds from her PR. Brigitte hadn't unpacked her TT bike from the Nationals in Wisconsin and rode her road bike. She missed her PR by only 7 seconds. Taking into account the wind and stoned road I'd say they both rode at a power that would have set PRs. Welcome back to Chris for his first run through the course this year and first ever on his road bike.

Vuelta Espana starts in 9 days ! TdF winner is competing for the first time since 2019. Multi stage winner in the TdF, Carapaz, is also competing. Wout VanAert and Mads Pedersen should make the sprint jersey an interesting competition. It's on Peacock. Sign up for a month to watch it !
