The conditions Tuesday evening actually slightly improved over the forecast. The breeze appeared to drop off to almost nil. Temps were a comfortable 74 degrees with a fairly high level of humidity.
Five intrepid TTers rolled to the start line. Hop took on the course sans his aero helmet and somehow managed to eviserate the course in a new PR of 23:58(25.03mph) - eclipsing the magical 24 minute mark! Nigel crushed his PR by 38 seconds with an impressive time of 26:16(22.85mph). I believe that is the fastest time in the RoadAero category this year. There were solid rides by Sean, Jade and Rich. Rich knocked down his 2026 best by 4 seconds.
Vuelta a Espana starts today ! The riders will be flying through the streets of Monaco in the stage 1 Time Trial. I won't talk about the results from today. But, wow! what a crazy course! I was shocked at the number of tight weaving turns there are on the 5.8 mile route.
Watch it on Peacock!
