I would have been driving up from Fayetteville, but the one hour drive would have been worth it to me. I was more than willing to make the drive if it weren't the doom and gloom of the forecasts the prior two days.Too bad about the parking situation. Thanks for your feedback. This particular ride was a "leader's choice" ride. It was not one that had been scheduled regularly as it had been part of a vacation ride, a special event that was run annually as a location ride, a 3-4 day trip. That year, it was based out of the Tailwater Lodge in Altmar. I suspected that it would have a low attendance d/t the long drive time for many riders and the weather report.After returning, we were told by the day manager that the Tailwater parking lot could not be used ...Continue Reading

It was Kelly and I for this pleasant ride to the lighthouse at Port Ontario and then to Salmon River falls. We had a veiled sun with thin clouds and nearly no wind. Seven members showed up in Canastota Saturday morning. The severe heat from earlier in the week abated and temps ranged from low 70’s to mid 80’s. The course is very nice with some scenic views but the Peterboro Hill is quite a challenge. 2 riders did the full 68 mile route3 riders did the 40 mile route2 riders did the 40 mile route but added Peterboro Hill for 43 miles Total miles ridden was 342. No known mishaps but the website didn’t have printable queue sheets for the 20  or 30 mile routes.  ...Continue Reading
