The slow and easy no drop ride tomorrow will be on the 22 mile route. I’m noticing a pattern of having more riders on the road than the official paperwork shows. I had nine riders in my shorter slow and easy group today, but only six are recorded on the sign-in sheet. We don’t require advance registration, but you do need to sign in at the ride site. Salt City Cyclocross Spectacular day 1 is in the bag, and it was a fantastic day of racing at Longbranch park as we hosted the New York State Cyclocross Championship. As opposed to all of the cold wet weekends we've had in the past for the CX race, the mostly sunny, dry and warm weather today was appreciated by all.Tomorrow is day 2, and we can definitely use your help! Seventeen riders rode a total of 505 miles over rolling terrain with plenty of color from the leaves on the trees. Six riders opted for the "slower" version, led by Karen Kelly. The wind gusted strong at times, especially as we headed south and east. feeling tornadic at times. I am the leader for Sunday’s ride out of Chittenango and am planning to offer a slow and easy no drop ride on either the 23 or 29 mile option. I’ll take input from others who would like to ride on their preference. My only hesitation on the 23 mile route is the several miles on Lakeport, which is very busy with narrow shoulders and high speed traffic.
