Eleven hopeful, but as it turned out, foolish riders showed up.  It started out with me bringing a similar, but wrong map for my ride. Then looking at the radar, which showed all the weather considerably north and also west of us, off we went.  After about 30 mins the sky darkened.  Then it was mentioned that the front was moving at 40 mph.  I added we are doing 20 mph so it is actually moving toward us at 60 mph. A TT Tale.....I arrived at the TT course around 5:50 and swept the course, set up the signs and was back at the start of the course by 6:20pm.   All was going as planned.   The red cells were hugging the north shore of Oneida Lake and passing to the east.  Skies were clear behind the red cells.  All was good with the exception of the swirling wind. It's a tough call.   Still at 55-65% from 6-7pm.    The issue is that the front is a long way off and nothing shows up on the radar until 5:30pm  at which time a patch of cells spawn ahead of the front.    It's possible that this doesn't actually occur.  So, at this time, the TT is still on.  But, if I see that patch of cells pop-up at 5:30pm, I'll cancel and go to my other activity.Since we are deciding at the last second here,   I'm pushing out the START TIME to ...Continue Reading

When was the last time we had clear sunny skies with no chance of rain on Tuesday evening ?    I'm guessing at leatst 4 weeks ago.The forecast calls for a 60-70% chance of rain starting at 5pm and continuing on through the overnight.   If this forecast holds it doesn't look good for the TT tonight.   I'm not going to clinging to hope of pulling off the TT tonight if this forecase holds through mid-afternoon.  I have some other activity I'd like to attend at 6pm if the rain is almost a ...Continue Reading
