This was a no drop ride with route change due to Apulia Road closed just south of village   All negotiated a change to go south on Rt 91 (yes it is hill till Pompey) We regrouped there with Kelly leading the way stopping at points for the group to catch up.   Then went on the road where the Alpaca farm is and continuing onto Shackham Road regrouping at the parking lot. A lovely summer day. 20 miles into the ride it was agreed by all that we felt like we had ridden 40 miles. I think the climbing that began from the get go had a lot to do with that. Builds character. One rider snapped his rear shifter cable 20 miles in yet managed to complete the 50. Impressive! Lots more riding left in this shortened season. See you next time. A great day for the ride. 25 riders rode 977 miles on Saturday with only one mechanical, a flat but no pump.  Attendance was done from usual. Church Hill on Otisco Lake’s causeway is permanently closed. It was closed due to the new state boat launching on the causeway. The locals that were against the project on the causeway warned it was a danger to unknown drivers pulling boats to come down the hill trying to make the sharp right turn. I guess the State finally agreed. It becomes a dead end on both sides midway up/down. I think they allowed for the one house on the road. The only way to go around Otisco lake now is Moon Hill now.
