Three riders braved the heat and humidity to complete 119 miles. No rider/bike incidents encountered. Feedback on the course: heavy traffic on 281 and through the city of Cortland. Passing Greek Peak was nice. On 392, just past GP, the GPS wanted to take me on Tone Rd., which is separated by a Creek and dead ends. We just stayed on 392. In Cortland, GPS turns right down Main Street, which is the wrong way on a 1-way. I believe Dale B. had a similar issue with a past ride he led. We tried to get back onto 11 (going wi ...Continue Reading

Fifteen riders, 13 of whom stopped for the bakery goodies in Skaneateles at Patisserie which, IMNSHO, is one of the best bakeries in CNY. We used Gully Rd on the way out, a more pleasant (shaded) road if a little hillier. Of course, 90% of the rides elevation gain occurs before the apple stix stop (would you believe that not everyone had a pastry? this being the most noteworthy incident of the day) so a tightly knit grupetto enjoyed the roll home. Only hot when you stopped ‘rolling.’ Sent from my iPad ...Continue Reading

Start time moved earlier to 0900. The part-time Floridian scheduled some Gulf Coast weather but not to worry, the ‘scattered TS’ won’t ‘pop-up’ until the afternoon. 😎 NTM the ride back from the Patisserie in Skinney-atlas is quicker being way more downhill than the lumpy way out. The ride originated by gourmand Dick Mathews ~2005 and was later modified and mapped by Tom Hotaling. bS Sent from my iPad ...Continue Reading

12 riders showed up on a much better than expected evening weather-wise to do the Caz ride. Most completed the 35 mile loop with a few chosing the 21 mile option. No difficulties that I heard about as I sat at home enjoying happy hour then a Gus-cooked dinner of sauteed scallops and zucchini salad. I confess I am both a wimp AND spoiled. ...Continue Reading

Well Mother Nature had quite a laugh at our TTers expense last night. I went to the course early to evaluate the new stones laid down on Moore Rd. They had been smoothed down nicely. No need to create a new course on Tag Rd. Checked the radar repeatedly especially after Jill said the skies were threatening in Jamesville. The reds cells consistently were sliding just south of us. We might get a couple of showers on the course. We are a go! Black Cree ...Continue Reading

Well it rained and most left. However, there were 7 soles that out lasted the rain and off they went. I was not one of them. Gave the sign-in sheets to Pete Zeleznock. He will also be the ride leader for next Tuesday. Rumor has it that Pete and John did Tom’s hillier option #4 WOW.See you in a couple of weeks or on one of the other club rides.Mike ...Continue Reading
