Hi Everyone:Well we had 39 riders show up to a park that had closed off our usual parking area, which made for some confusion. To compound that, I got stuck at a dental appointment and didn’t get to the park until 5:50. Thanks to Nancy for bringing the sign-in sheets etc. People were really standing in line very nervous that wouldn’t have a chance to sign-in. All was well when the start was pushed to 6:10 wow disaster averted. The 39 riders did 894 miles without any reports of problems.  ...Continue Reading

In case you have already down loaded the GPS for the rides and since I don’t use GPS I was unaware of the error in the turn off of Gorham at the 2.1 mile mark, for the 37 and 63 mile rides. While the map is correct, the cue sheets are not. It should be turn right onto Vinegar Hill/Jordan Road. Thanks Bob Ruth for finding this error. Mike ...Continue Reading

As I started to review the forecast for tomorrow's TT, I realized I had not sent out the results for last week. Oops! It was a crazy week. There was a bit of uncertainty about whether it would rain or not... but, as it turned out, we had decent conditions for a Time Trial. Temps in the high 70s with very light winds. We had to use to the 10.3 mile Tag Road course due to road resurfacing on parts of the original TT course. Three TTers ventured out to tackle the Tag Rd course.  ...Continue Reading

It was a nice day weather-wise with four riders showing up for the ride (190 miles total ridden). Fresh pavement on the Truxton Hill Road Climb was a nice surprise (450 ft vertical in the second mile of the ride). Mark had an excellent suggestion for an alternative route that avoided traffic and limited our time on Route 80 on the way home. A bit of fog in the higher elevations made things interesting. No incidents and a fine ride. ...Continue Reading

Thirteen members came out to Friday’s ride at Lysander Town Park to do the Apple Country Metric. It turned out to be a good day - no rain with clouds which was okay. Mary posted that we didn’t see any apples, but they probably were on the long ride which no one opted to do. Everyone did the 45 mile route (even one determined rider who had carpal tunnel surgery earlier that week) on some nice shaded country roads with lots of cornfields. We were even rewarded with a nice view on top of Weller road ...Continue Reading
