i was reminded by Zeke that Brighton Ave was not a good section for the Saturday Lafayette ride. Many suggestions were made while waiting to leave for the ride.  Coye was steep but there were alternatives like going to Jamesville via Nottingham then Apulia, Coye, Smoky Hollow, Banker then back to original route.  This was a nice easy alternative.   13 stronger and some not as such started the ride. All, After a beautiful day Saturday mother nature intervened again. Even though the rain had mostly stopped by 9:00AM the storms that came through the area overnight were quite severe. Listening to the radio before heading out there was a National Weather Service warning for flash flooding for Tully, Fabius, DeRuyter and Truxton which is half the route. Ten riders headed out from Lysander Park into a strong gusty wind from the west. One rider went 22 miles, two covered 33 and the remainder cycled 45 miles. We took turns leading the peloton and waited for the group to reform at key intersections. A total of 403 miles were traversed.
