The weather conditions for the Tuesday night TT ended up better than predicted. The breeze faded down to almost nil. I had to change the course to the newly annointed Tag Rd/New Boston Road course due to road repairs being conducted on several of the TT course roads (Moore and Mud Mill). It appears that Chestnut Ridge is about to have some work done it as well. We will be on Tag Road for at least a couple more weeks. The Tag Road course has about 200 ft of climbing over 10.3 mil ...Continue Reading

Beautiful weather brought out a lot of cyclists last night. We had 53 members and 2 guests participating. One mechanical problem reported. All four rides went out. Thanks to Tom, Mark, and Roland for leading the rides. Hopefully the great weather will continue for the rest of the season! It's looking like a nice evening to do a Time Trial. No chance of rain today. Temps in the mid-70s, low humidity with an 8 mph NW breeze. We may have to temporarily move the TT over to Tag Road due to the recent tar and stone applications on Moore Road. I have provided a map of the temporary 10.0 mile course below. Parking will be at the same place. The start will be .10 mile away from the tee of Lakeport and Tag Road. I will drive over Moore to determine if it is acceptable for t ...Continue Reading

Three riders braved the heat and humidity to complete 119 miles. No rider/bike incidents encountered. Feedback on the course: heavy traffic on 281 and through the city of Cortland. Passing Greek Peak was nice. On 392, just past GP, the GPS wanted to take me on Tone Rd., which is separated by a Creek and dead ends. We just stayed on 392. In Cortland, GPS turns right down Main Street, which is the wrong way on a 1-way. I believe Dale B. had a similar issue with a past ride he led. We tried to get back onto 11 (going wi ...Continue Reading

Fifteen riders, 13 of whom stopped for the bakery goodies in Skaneateles at Patisserie which, IMNSHO, is one of the best bakeries in CNY. We used Gully Rd on the way out, a more pleasant (shaded) road if a little hillier. Of course, 90% of the rides elevation gain occurs before the apple stix stop (would you believe that not everyone had a pastry? this being the most noteworthy incident of the day) so a tightly knit grupetto enjoyed the roll home. Only hot when you stopped ‘rolling.’ Sent from my iPad ...Continue Reading
