While there was rain for a good part of the day, it sun peeked out around 5:30 so the ride was a go. No mishaps that I was told about. Sixteen (16) riders showed up. One did the canal, led my me, 3, led by Dean did the 10 mile loop, 9 led by Don Butler did a 20 mile loop and 3, led by Tom, did his hilly of various distances. Total miles 277. An hour ago I was writing that the forecast improved and that we were a Go. But, then I went outside and felt it was still misting. I held off. It's an hour later and I just went outside again (Dewitt) and it is STILL MISTING. The pavement is thoroughly wet. Even if the misting stops, it will remain overcast and the humidity will be 90+%. Hi Everyone, I hope you are all celebrated out with picnics and get togethers this weekend…be sure to thank a vet for being able to do this. Once again, we plan to have our *OCC Slow ‘n Easy West* ride this coming Tuesday May 28th at Reed Webster Park in Camillus leaving at 6:00 PM from the west end parking lot (near the tennis courts). Re: Marcellus-Otisco Lake Ride for May 26 with Map Mar-3. It looks like the weather will be as good as predicted earlier with a 69 degree temp at start time and partly sunny. They winds will be in the 9-10 mph range which may affect the route back It looks like a great day to ride. Ride report for today… OCC’s Famous Cookie Ride, 41 and 53 miles7 riders, 6 went for cookies Both rides went out into the wind Cookies are still good, thanks Tim L We didn’t stay long, two temperature readings indicated 49 and 51, felt like 40 with the brisk wind Nice tailwind (for the most part) on the returnNo incidents, flats, accidents, rain or sun (not enough to mention although it did try to get brighter)In spite of the less than stellar day, a good ride with good company. 14 riders came out despite the original ominous weather forecast. Actually treated to sunshine - although the winds turned very gusty and we beat the heavy Thunderstorm by 15 - 20 minutes. About 20 riders came out tonight to ride between 24 and 35 hilly miles. The radar looked ominous at the start, but we encountered only a few sprinkles, thankfully.
