Hi Everyone, We sure have had a nice stretch of good weather this past week and it looks like we will be having more this week. The Accuweather forecast for this Tuesday shows “…/Plenty of sunshine/…with a high of 86” predicted. 20 riders came out to Fayetteville to ride 40 or 60 miles on today’s routes. Great weather for a long ride. The roads around Georgetown were in poor condition. And your ride leader got chased by a dog in that same area. I squirted some water at it and that made him stop chasing me. Or maybe he just got tired. Other than that, it was a nice route and nice ride. We have a lot of rides scheduled for July and August that do not yet have ride leaders. Please help out and sign up to lead a ride. Nine riders showed up at the new start time; one came at the usual time, he missed the update. Next time I will add to our FB page. One rider did the entire ride. He got back okay, but agreed it was a brutal day. Those of us who began at 9 regrouped in Minetto and made the decision to return to the start. We’ll do the entire route on a more seasonable day. Hot day 90 degrees and sunny, low wind 101-3 100-2 94-1 intended on 100 72-4 61-1 60-1 57-1 52-1 Two riders stopped on Black Creek road and were given cold bottled water and offered hot dogs and hamburgers One rider 94 mi was dragging and picked up by someone he knew that was driving by. Driver asked him what kind of work he did, and was offered a job starting ASAP. Rider intended on 61 but changed to century.
