I’ve been reading, with interest, the controversy over building the extension to “Loop the Lake.”I read this Sunday’s article in the Post Standard. In previous posts it was mentioned there is some toxicity on Murphy’s Island. Unfortunately, there was no mention of this in the article. Dear Glen, et.al.   In Dec. of last year the County passed a resolution to use $1.5 mil. to finish the Loop the Lake Trail construction with the agreement to make the trail on Murphy’s Island along the *railroad tracks* so as not to disturb the eagles.    Now it wants to build the trail instead through the area of the eagle roost.   While the County has not presented the public with a plan for the Trail around the whole South end of the Lake, it wants to start construction of a Trail o ...Continue Reading

There is a multi-day ride called Cycle to Syracuse (https://cycletosyracuse.com) that commemorates the 30th Anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing that killed, among others, 35 SU students. The ride started in Lockerbie, completed the UK portion, then flew to DC to start again today at Arlington National Cemetery, and ride to Syracuse.  The final leg of their ride is November 1st, from Utica to the SU campus https://connect.garmin.com/modern/course/21242513#.
