Well we had two of the three vital ingredients for fast times on the TT course.  Hot air   - check!Humid air -  check!No wind or breeze from S, SE      Nope!Never the less we still had a PR on the course.  We to go Dick!  He dropped his PR by 9 seconds.Our FMT was Alex Johnson. Five people rode approximately 25 miles each on a modified Peters to Pompey route given that 91 is still being paved.  Based on what I saw this afternoon the workers are paving a stretch that is about 1.5 miles from Jamesville and. if weather co-operates, should be finished this weekend.  Perhaps this ride was scheduled one week too early. ...Continue Reading

Good morning all! It was a warm and humid evening to ride but once you were out on the bike and moving, it was pretty comfortable.  The newspaper said we hit 91 degrees yesterday. Turnout was a little less than I would have thought but still respectable with 29 members and 1 guest for a total of 30 riders.  Dale Barnell took over Tom Hotaling’s group and took them on  a 23 mile route under option #1.  Mike led his group on a 22 mile loop while Mark led the all highway group on a 10 route.&n ...Continue Reading

I am the ride leader for tomorrow's Peter's to Pompey ride.  Ignoring for now the possibility of 100° temps and thunderstorms, the other issue is the ongoing paving of Route 91.  Yes!!!  After years of cycling on broken pavement, one of the worst roads in the county is finally being taken care of.  The bad news is that, when we drove 91 today, there was about a mile of milled road about 1.5 miles south of Jamesville.  The rest of the road to Pompey has a brand new beautiful surface ...Continue Reading
