Seven riders ignored threatening skies and rode the 28 mile Carpenter’s Brook/Spook Woods ride, three with a one mile add-on to avoid Route 321.   Despite very dark clouds, all stayed completely dry and a biblical-grade storm event finally broke out after all had finished and in the car or gone.  All in all, a really good night for a ride.   Tom Fucillo    *Thomas J. Hi everyone,Yes…it did not rain last evening and the temperature cooled a bit to make for a comfortable ride.  Turnout was lower than normal but folks must have been worried about the rainL.  There were 36 members and 2 guests for a total of 38 riders.  The group rode a total of 716 miles. Tom Hotaling’s group covered  22 miles while Mike Lyon’s intermediate group had a choice of 22 or 20 miles dependent on how far the wanted to go on the route.  Mark Perrin with Roland Pearson and Al Storr ...Continue Reading

I’m the ride leader for Wednesday’s “Spook Woods” ride out of Carpenter’s Brook Hatchery on Route 321 just west of Camillus.  The ride leaves at 6pm.  Because sunset is getting earlier *and the hatchery is only open until 8:00 pm*, come prepared to do the 28 mile option or shorter (the map lists a 39 mile option but that dog don’t hunt).  I’ll have a few maps with me.    See you there.   Tom Fucillo   *Thomas J. Hi Everyone,It’s Sunday again and we are looking forward to this Tuesday’s *Slow ‘n Easy West* ride once again.  It has been pretty warm and humid over the last few day and Tuesday won’t change much.  Accuwether is forecasting “…/Mostly cloudy, a couple of showers and a thunderstorm; humid”/ ;the high will be 88 degrees.  They did not say when the showers are expected…hopefully in the morning hours so that things will dry up for the evening ride.  Watch for my late afternoon email. We will meet ...Continue Reading
