[occ2] Friday ride, June 16

June 16th 2017 MDT

Ten cyclists showed up today to ride nearly 450 miles.  Nine did 43 miles and one ambitious cyclist did 62, riding all the way to Oswego.   The rest of us were content with turning back in South Scriba. It turned out to be a decent day - no rain and we even had some sun.  Next Friday there is no ride,  but it is Race Weekend.   If you have some time,  be sure to signup to help out.  All the info is on the club"s website. Sent from my Galaxy Tab® S2 ...Continue Reading

[occ2] 6/13/17 SnEW ride

June 14th 2017 MDT

Hi Everyone, Sorry I’m a little later getting this out today but here it is.  Despite all the speculation about the weather yesterday, we had a very respectable turnout last night.  There were 38 members and one guest for a total of 39 riders.  The riders rode a total of 707 miles. While the weather threatened leading up to the 6:00 PM ride start, we got off mostly lucky.  Talking with Tom Hotaling, he said his group got caught in a brief shower…but no one melted.  For the most part wh ...Continue Reading

[occ2] OCC Tuesday Night Time Trial results - June 13 - week 3 - Lafayette

June 14th 2017 MDT

Mother Nature attempted to make it three cancellations in a row,  but the rain stayed just to the north of our location in Lafayette and we were able to complete the Time Trail rain-free.   The 6-8 mph breeze was from the NW -  a favorable direction on this course. It helps to have a little push up the inclines going out.We had seven riders roll up to the line last night.    The fastest time was logged by Dave Grieves who sliced the course in a time of 26:20 (24.38 mph).  That time was a PR ...Continue Reading

[occ2] tonight's ride

June 13th 2017 MDT

Hi Everyone, From I can see, I think tonight will be OK to ride.  There is a 50% chance of a t-storm between 6 and 7, but we’ll have faith and take our chances.  The temperature is pretty warm and on the humid side.  Hydrate! It should be mostly sun and clouds but those showers a supposed to be spotty in the area.  The heavy rain clouds are to the north of Ontario on the radar…just a few tiny blips of green in our general area.  We’ll ride…after two weeks of cancellations due to ...Continue Reading
