Hi Everyone, Well, it wasn’t a total washout.  The “not so nice rain and drizzle” stayed away from Syracuse last night and allowed a rain-free beginning to the *SnEW* season.  I don’t know where the large rain front that was moving northward ended up…but we did not get it.  It was a bit chilly with a very cool wind coming at us from the east.  We had a larger than expected turnout of 23 intrepid riders show up to ride.  The groups rode a total of 321 miles. We had all our usual ride le ...Continue Reading

Hi Everyone, You will note that it has gotten darker out…the result of this second rain front moving in.  The northern tip of this front is in the very south most part of NY at the moment.  The forecast is saying “no rain for the next 120 minutes”.  In looking at the radar sweep it is not just the normal green clouds showing as it has all day but this one is showing some yellow and red areas also…very heavy stuff.  I am not going to cancel the ride at this time and I will be at the park for thos ...Continue Reading

Hi Everyone, I’ve been watching the weather radar for Syracuse and I am not very happy with what I am seeing.  While the rain front we had this morning is moving northward into the Adirondacks, and there is clearing behind it (hence the brightness we are seeing) there is another nasty looking batch coming up through Virginia  and Pennsylvania behind it.  They are predicting rain in the 4:00 and 5:00 hours as well as during the 7:00 hour.  Not very conducive for a bike ride.  I don’t want to ...Continue Reading
