We had 15 members and one guset ride at Great Bear for the second week of Mtn. biking. The temp. was a little warm but no to bad. The bugs were not a factor and everyone expressed how much fun they had and are looking forward to the next session at the Bear. Hope to see you there in two weeks. Almost everyone rode about 10 miles and left with smiles on the faces.Your Ride Leader Tom H. ...Continue Reading

Another bright day on the horizon for the Friday ride (hopefully). And the temps are going to plummet to the low 80’s! The ride is to Spook Woods which is mostly on rural roads that, as of yesterday, were not under construction. Even the road that has a sign ‘Road Work’ has some patched spots, but that’s it. The ride is rated ‘Somewhat Hillier’, but don’t let that keep you away – there’s nothing long or overly steep. Look forward to seeing lots of people at Camillus Airport, 10 a.m. I’ ...Continue Reading

15 riders showed up to tackle the hilly Delphi-Damon ride on Sunday. 5 of the riders were guests and assured me that their membership was in the mail.6 riders completed the 55 mile ride (~3800 ft of climbing) while others did a variety of distances to suit their needs. Personally, I could not recall feeling that we had a tailwind, so I checked the weather logs. Yep, winds started out SSE (some headwind going out) and then shifted to the SSW (headwind as we headed west on Damon, Rt 80,etc). Temp ...Continue Reading

As expected, the day was beautiful and the lake was too! You can see the blue skies and calm waters in the pictures (thanks Doug Bray for being our photographer today!). Thirteen OCC riders and one guest came to enjoy the nice country roads and eats at Rudy’s. We even met up with three other members at Rudy’s who started at a different location for a shorter ride, but it turned out to be not much shorter. All of us did the 58 miles and a few rated the ride as an ‘A’. I think it’s a ke ...Continue Reading

Thanks Tom! The maybe 47 is the one to consider and those who really need the 62 can loop! I have been told that there is construction and a detour on the 62 mile route on Saturday. Apparently bridges are out on Taylor Valley Road and there is a posted detour which adds about a mile of “gentle rollers” which doesn’t sound too bad. I am not familiar with the area and am not going to be able to drive the route before Saturday. I plan on doing the 47 mile ride. Thanks to Glen Larson for pointing out the detour. Tom Thomas J.
