The showers this morning should fade away and give us about 7 hours for the roads to dry out.  Temps will hover around 70 degrees at the start with moderately high humidity.  The breeze will be around 9mph out of the WNW.*_Vuelta a Espana Notes:_*20,000 more ft of climbing than in the TdF!Stage 1 - 5.4 miles technical TT -    included some crazy skinny chicane sections through the streets and buildings of Monaco.  Made me think of a Zwift ride. The popular Thursday night ride  from the Minoa firehouse saw a congenial group of 17 members and 1 guest head out in excellent cycling conditions. Slow is a subjective term, but the pace was "easy" enough that over a dozen riders were able to navigate the 23 mile course and finish together. Some jostling between 2 riders occurred at an  intersection, resulting in torn brake hood and bar tape. There was also complaints of a la k of post ride confectionery.To make up for that, an inform ...Continue Reading

The conditions Tuesday evening actually slightly improved over the forecast.  The breeze appeared to drop off to almost nil.   Temps were a comfortable 74 degrees with a fairly high level of humidity.   Five intrepid TTers rolled to the start line.    Hop took on the course sans his aero helmet and somehow managed to eviserate the course in a new PR of 23:58(25.03mph) - eclipsing the magical 24 minute mark!   Nigel crushed his PR by 38 seconds with an impressive time of 26:16 ...Continue Reading

From: mailto: We had 4 riders show up at Carpenter’s Brook on Wednesday. 2 of them played it safe and decided to head home. The other 2 delayed the start time by about 10 minutes to see if the weather would cooperate. The wait was worth it! 32 miles covered by both, no rain, just wet roads at the start and end. Temps were perfect mid 70s dropping below 70 by the end.
