Mother Nature decided to play nice for us on the TT course. The temperature was a reasonable 81-82 degrees and the worries of rain evaporated in the last hour. Sticky yes. Stickier is faster, though. And as we gathered at the start I noticed a magical wind shift from the vaunted SE ! It was light, but definitely from the direction that I've claimed to be the fastest.Four TTers who believed my last second email claiming the rain would miss the course rolled to the start line.&nb ...Continue Reading

Yesterday was my first group ride in a looooooonnnngg time! I noticed quite a few changes, some good, some not so.... 1st- the ride leader was amazing! Organized, super friendly and welcoming (that's a new feature 😉) , had a few maps, and really was a mother duck. She kept track of all the little ducklings, making sure they were ok. I really appreciated that since I didn't bring a map, nor did I feel like carrying one, so I was totally dependent... I really enjoyed trying to keep up with her in turbo mode. Ugh ...Continue Reading

The short portion of W.Dead Creek we were on is under construction but still ‘ride-able’. Kelly Sent from my iPad ...Continue Reading

Despite dire heat and thunderstorm warnings, 16 individuals rode a total of 351 miles on the last day of June. Rain that rolled through between 4:00 and 5:00 cooled down temps from the afternoon highs and blue skies accompanied us for what turned out to be a pleasant evening, especially on the downhills. No reported problems. Riders snacked on Oreos at the finish. Karen Kelly ...Continue Reading

The forecast initially degraded to a near certainty of rain around 5-6pm... But, now it's looking like the heavy rain will stay south of the TT course.Brian On Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 09:42:20 AM EDT, Brian Goetke <goetke1@PROTECTED> wrote: The heat is on! If you are out riding or TTing, you might enjoy an ice sock. ideally, the foot of an old stocking or other mesh, full of ice. Placed between your shoulder blades, this will keep your core cool and fend off heat strokes. Stay safe! :) ...Continue Reading
