Yes, the ride leader decided to go home and dump the water out of his cycling shoes that had collected in the short amount of time he was loading the bike into the car during the deluge. Entertaining write-up Dave. Glad you all managed to stay away from the "red" cells that were lurking around Cazenovia. I was surprised you all decided to go down Stanley cliff.... you all must be confident of your brakes.I have confirmation that 5 made it back safely... Ed?   ...Continue Reading

Well, since the ride leader and part-time meteorologist got there “not quite ready to ride” and he didn’t participate, I’ll fill you in on tonight's ride. With the humidity hovering near 100% 6 of us decided conditions were fair and started out from Minoa toward the East into a bit of a headwind. We moved along at a good pace along Kirkville road, and ran into a few sprinkles along Poolsbrooke. We headed south into Mycenae and then up Gulf Road with sun peaking through the trees. We regrouped at the top of Gulf roa ...Continue Reading

Last weekend was the 2016 edition of Syracuse Race Weekend. If you didn't make it out, you missing a great weekend of racing, and I don't think many people were aware that on Sunday we had a Canadian National Road Race Champion racing with it. Very cool stuff. As part of race weekend, the local bike shops provide prizes for the racers that we give away throughout the weekend, and this year they were *extraordinarily** generous*. In a day and age of o ...Continue Reading

We had spectacular conditions for the Time Trial. The temperature hovered around 90 degrees, but the winds had faded to a whisper.... Twelve riders rolled to the start line - four were new to the Chittenango TT course. When Alex Johnson blew through the finish line with a PR (by 26 seconds) of 23:04 I figured we had our fastest man time. But, I hadn't counted on course newby Dave Tate destroying the course with a 22:56 (26.17 mph) and posting the fastest time of 2016.   ...Continue Reading

Good Afternoon, Many of us have ridden in the Arise and Ride at the farm event in the past and it is that time again. For those not familiar, the ride is a charity event that supports the Arise Farm on New Boston Road in Chittenango. They have the states largest accessible playground, accessible fishing, a high ropes course, therapeutic horseback riding and more. It is a more than worthy cause and the event is fun for the whole family. There is a 25 and a 12 mile bike loop, rated flat as can be. (the biggest ...Continue Reading
