Hi All, Looks like tonight will be a great night to ride…mid 70s and lower humidity. Weather will not be a legitimate excuse for not riding. So, get that bike ready to roll tonight and pack your kit so that you will be ready. I’ll be there around 5:30 to open sign-ins. Those of you who are planning to do Tom’s challenge ride tonight, you’ll find a route map in the website under the SnE Tuesday night rides: Option 4. Print the map so that you have it if you need it. We’ll ha ...Continue Reading

This week's Wednesday ride is "Silk Road" out of Phoenix at 6pm. There are 3 options, 28, 37 and 41 miles. It should be 72 degrees, clear skies with a NW breeze to push us home. Sunset is about 8:45.I do have a small route change suggestion, instead of going out through Phoenix, we can take Rt 57A, right turn on Rt 12, left turn onto Swamp Rd and join the route on Peter Scott Rd. It's only a 1/4 of a mile shorter and it avoids Phoenix and we only have to ride the bad pavement on Rt 264 once.I ...Continue Reading

As I mentioned in my last write up, the venue for the Time Trial this week will be on the Lafayette Time Trial course that is used for the Syracuse Race weekend. The layout of the course is simple.... starting from Rowland Rd. - ride up 11A for 5.1 miles, make a right on to Solvay Rd, half mile later, make a right on to Tully Farms road and fly the remaining 5 miles downhill!!! The course has a net altitude loss of 100 ft. The weather will be excellent - 74 degrees, low humidity, 9 mph WNW wind. You ...Continue Reading

We had 15 members and one guset ride at Great Bear for the second week of Mtn. biking. The temp. was a little warm but no to bad. The bugs were not a factor and everyone expressed how much fun they had and are looking forward to the next session at the Bear. Hope to see you there in two weeks. Almost everyone rode about 10 miles and left with smiles on the faces.Your Ride Leader Tom H. ...Continue Reading

Another bright day on the horizon for the Friday ride (hopefully). And the temps are going to plummet to the low 80’s! The ride is to Spook Woods which is mostly on rural roads that, as of yesterday, were not under construction. Even the road that has a sign ‘Road Work’ has some patched spots, but that’s it. The ride is rated ‘Somewhat Hillier’, but don’t let that keep you away – there’s nothing long or overly steep. Look forward to seeing lots of people at Camillus Airport, 10 a.m. I’ ...Continue Reading

15 riders showed up to tackle the hilly Delphi-Damon ride on Sunday. 5 of the riders were guests and assured me that their membership was in the mail.6 riders completed the 55 mile ride (~3800 ft of climbing) while others did a variety of distances to suit their needs. Personally, I could not recall feeling that we had a tailwind, so I checked the weather logs. Yep, winds started out SSE (some headwind going out) and then shifted to the SSW (headwind as we headed west on Damon, Rt 80,etc). Temp ...Continue Reading
