This year, the OCC Syracuse Race Weekend is being held on July 8th, 9th and 10th, 2016, consisting of the Hill Climb, Time Trial, Criterium and Road Race. As always, the success of race weekend hinges on the club members who come out and volunteer their time to make this a great event. Registration for the Civil War Century ride is now open.  This ride features some of the prettiest terrain in the eastern U.S. and also passes through 3 historical sites (South Mtn., Antietam battlefield and Gettysburg battlefield.  There are 100, 75, 62, 50 and  25 mile options.  Century ride is very challenging (as in hilly) and features 3 major climbs.  Ride starts/ends in Thurmont, MD.  Several OCC members have participated over the last 5 years. After all the emails about the roads on this route (thanks for the heads-up) and the fact that we couldn’t park at LBP because of a truck rodeo (we could have, but chose not to and the default was OLP), everything turned out great.  We all got back safely with no incidents and several people commented that it was a great ride.
